Sanitäre Aufsicht prüft Vorkommnisse bei Herz-OP im KUK
Jene Operation, die von einem operierenden Oberarzt vor deren Beendigung verlassen wurde und in deren Folge der Tod des Patienten eintrat, wird nun auch ein Fall für die Sanitäre Aufsicht der Stadt Linz.

Homeoffice kam, um zu bleiben
Bereits vor und unabhängig von der Corona-Krise entwickelt der Magistrat moderne Arbeitsformen weiter. So wurde heuer ein neues, flexibles Gleitzeitsystem eingeführt, das den MitarbeiterInnen und dem Arbeitgeber viel Gestaltungsfreiheit und Selbstverantwortung einräumt. Die Möglichkeiten des flexiblen, ortsunabhängigen Arbeitens werden bereits breit genutzt und werden bleiben.

Bevölkerungswachstum schwächt sich weiter ab
Die neuesten Zahlen der Stadtforschung zur Bevölkerungsentwicklung vom 1. Mai zeigen abermals eine nachhaltige Abschwächung des Wachstums im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Derzeit leben exakt 207.916 Einwohnerinnen und Einwohner mit Hauptwohnsitz in Linz.

Seit 2015 schreiben das Integrationsbüro und die Abteilung Linz-Kultur-Projekte gemeinsam den Preis für Integration und Interkulturalität „Stadt der Vielfalt“ aus. Dieser bündelt seither die Potenziale des ehemaligen „Integrationspreises“ sowie des Preises „Stadt der Kulturen“.

Im Auftrag der Landesregierung hat der Landesrechnungshof ein Gutachten über die Finanzgebarung der Stadt Linz erstellt. Das nun vorgelegte Gutachten ist aber mittlerweile Makulatur.

5. Mai: Gedenken an die Befreiung von Linz vor 75 Jahren
Am 27. April 1945, also noch vor dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs, wurde die Zweite Republik gegründet. Karl Renner wurde Kanzler einer provisorischen Regierung. Nur wenige Tage darauf, am 5. Mai, war auch in Linz der Krieg zu Ende.

Kurzparkzonen: Ab Mittwoch wird wieder gestraft
Mit dem Öffnen der Geschäfte hat sich auch der Parkplatzdruck in der Innenstadt erhöht. Daher wurden die Gebührenpflicht und die Zeitlimits in den Kurzparkzonen mit 4. Mai 2020 wieder eingeführt.

Die etwas andere Klangwolke 2020
Seit 10. März sind sämtliche Veranstaltungen aufgrund der Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung der Corona-Pandemie in Österreich ausgesetzt. Diese Regelung ist vorerst bis 30. Juni befristet. Auch die Häuser der LIVA sind massiv davon betroffen, einige Veranstaltungen mussten abgesagt, viele andere konnten bereits auf spätere Zeitpunkte verschoben werden.
